Role Description

Network Engineers are responsible for the infrastructure that connects our users to Dropbox services. This network transits traffic for all tenants of Dropbox serving infrastructure, including our in-house multi-exabyte storage system (Magic Pocket), large scale databases, edge POP infrastructure, and all user-facing services. As part of the Production Networking team, you will be responsible for designing and managing our large scale network infrastructure while improving reliability and efficiency. We’re looking for engineers who want to be a part of developing, maintaining, and scaling the network and software tools which support the network.

Responsibilities

  • You will evolve the production network (AS19679) to support new and existing use cases to maximize product velocity
  • You will drive network reliability through incident management and transparent metrics, while aligning with service SLAs and performance requirements
  • You will work with other Site Reliability Engineering teams to build and operate a highly available and performant infrastructure, including on-premise hardware and cloud networks
  • You will build software tools to manage the network infrastructure and ensure we scale efficiently and sustainably
  • You will interact with external parties to procure and evaluate hardware, and grow our network infrastructure

Requirements

  • Proficiency in either Python or Golang
  • Experience with network hardware/software (eg. Cisco, Juniper, Arista)
  • Experience with incident management, metrics and network operations/oncall
  • Experience managing networks for large-scale, public-facing services using best practices
  • Solid working knowledge of BGP, ISIS, TCP/IP - IPv4/IPv6
  • Ability to participate in periodic "on-call" rotation 
  • Knowledge of MPLS, QoS, DWDM is a plus

Total Rewards

Salary/OTE is just one component of Dropbox’s total rewards package. All regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). 

Current Salary/OTE Ranges (Subject to change):
zł14,300 - zł16,800 - zł19,400 per month

Dropbox applies increased tax deductible costs (50%) to remuneration earned by certain qualifying employees (to the extent an employee will be involved in the creation of the software as an “author”) for the transfer of copyrights, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Personal Income Tax Act.
