Role Description

This is a critical role with high visibility and impact within Dropbox. You’ll get to work on a wide range of strategic and meaningful projects that will hone your analytical abilities and people skills, while gaining significant exposure to senior leaders and key stakeholders. You will be responsible for driving successful execution of cross-functional initiatives to advance our DEI mission of “designing inclusive and equitable workplace experiences to result in optimal business outcomes and a more enlightened way of working for all”.  Dropbox has a strong DEI foundation and is currently going through a transformation to meet the needs of our changing business and external environment. 

We are seeking an exceptional leader to spearhead our DEI initiatives, including Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and inclusive experiences, while driving strategic DEI communications. Reporting to the VP of DEI, you will be pivotal in advancing our DEI goals, ensuring our DEI efforts are cohesive, impactful, and aligned with our business objectives.

The ideal candidate is a visionary with a strong track record in DEI, capable of leading through influence and collaboration across all organizational levels. You should have extensive experience in program management, communications, and designing DEI learning and development programs.

Responsibilities

Employee Resource Groups and Inclusive Experiences:
  • Serve as the principal liaison for Dropbox’s ERG program, providing strategic consultation, guidance, and governance.
  • Design and implement frameworks to support and elevate ERG development, including strategies, programming, and tracking mechanisms to monitor and evaluate ERG impact and ROI.
  • Establish relationships with external networks and organizations aligned with our DEI and ERG objectives.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to enhance inclusion throughout the employee lifecycle within a Virtual First (VF) environment.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and Talent Brand to design DEI experiences that showcase the advantages of DEI at Dropbox.
  • Orchestrate impactful DEI Town Halls and manage special DEI projects.
DEI Learning:
  • Collaborate with the Learning & Organizational Development (L&OD) team to integrate DEI within existing programming.
  • Partner with external experts to design specialized development programs supporting mentorship and sponsorship.
  • Work with People Analytics to evaluate program effectiveness and apply insights to enhance DEI efforts.
Strategy and Operations:
  • Partner with the VP of DEI to drive strategic initiatives, including annual planning, long-term vision development, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Oversee the tracking and progress of DEI objectives and key results (OKRs).
  • Provide operational support for the DEI team, including budgeting and procurement processes.
  • Identify potential risks and opportunities to drive strategic DEI initiatives.
Communications:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy that amplifies our DEI mission.
  • Collaborate with internal and external communications teams to define effective engagement strategies and channels for DEI messaging.
  • Produce engaging omni-channel content that resonates globally, emphasizing employee storytelling.
  • Lead the development and publication of critical DEI documents, including Annual and ESG reports.
  • Support leadership in DEI communications through key messaging, talking points, and briefings.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in Communications, Talent Branding within the DEI or HR function, with a demonstrated history of leadership and strategic impact.
  • Minimum of 8+ years in program management, ideally within HR/DEI or a learning function, demonstrating experience in managing complex programs and delivering end-to-end program execution. 
  • Proven experience in leading and consulting ERGs and developing scalable DEI communication strategies.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead through influence and build consensus-based support for DEI initiatives.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation for actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with DEI principles and practice.
  • Proficiency in data and analytics tools (e.g., Qualtrics, Tableau).
  • Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP) and/or DEI.
  • Background in the development and execution of enterprise-wide events.
  • Proven ability to connect and inspire a global audience through DEI communications.

The range(s) listed above is the expected annual salary/OTE for this role, subject to change.

Dropbox takes a number of factors into account when determining individual starting pay, including job and level they are hired into, location/metropolitan area, skillset, and peer compensation.  We target most new hire offers between the minimum up to the middle of the range.

Salary/OTE is just one component of Dropbox’s total rewards package. All regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).

Dropbox uses the zip code of an employee’s remote work location to determine which metropolitan pay range we use. Current US Zone locations are as follows:
• US Zone 1: San Francisco metro, New York City metro, or Seattle metro
• US Zone 2: Austin (TX) metro, Chicago metro, California (outside SF metro), Colorado, Connecticut (outside NYC metro), Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York (outside NYC metro), Oregon, Pennsylvania (outside NYC or DC metro), Washington DC metro, and West Virginia (DC metro)
• US Zone 3: All other US locations

Dropbox is a Virtual First company and is open to hiring candidates in all authorized locations. However, for this role, the locations posted are preferred.
