Engineering Managers are pivotal in shaping our mission of building a more enlightened way of working where everyone can unleash their creative potential without constraints.
 
As an Engineering Manager, you’ll thrive in our team if you love chasing impact, working through ambiguity, and developing a culture of innovation. In this role, you’ll lead a team of 5-10 engineers, leveraging your robust managerial toolbox to drive direct business and customer impact independently. You’ll work closely with your direct reports, cross-functional partners, and other teams to build the future of Dropbox. Our team culture rewards a bias for action, engineering partnership in defining our strategy, and efficient operational excellence. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a passion for driving results in a collaborative, virtual-first environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 5-10 engineers in identifying, adopting, and building solutions for improved testing experience across multiple platforms
  • Monitor the performance and impact of adopted solutions, gathering feedback, and identifying areas for improvement
  • Drive results by identifying impactful opportunities and ensuring long-term growth and customer impact
  • Inspire your team with a clear direction, fostering an environment where innovation flourishes and bold ideas are encouraged
  • Foster talent development by supporting personal growth, career advancement, and diverse hiring practices
  • Cultivate a collaborative and inclusive culture, championing team members and upholding our company values
  • Ensure software and architecture excellence through quality feedback, risk mitigation, and alignment with technical strategy and business goals

Requirements

  • Familiarity with software development methodologies, web-based technologies, and cloud-based platforms
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics) or equivalent technical experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of people management experience with an engineering team
  • Minimum of 5 year as a software engineer or equivalent technical experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Developer tools and testing
  • Passion for solving developer productivity, developer experience, systems performance and scalability issues
  • Experience working across timezones, and matrix style management

Total Rewards

Dropbox applies increased tax deductible costs (50%) to remuneration earned by certain qualifying employees (to the extent an employee will be involved in the creation of the software as an “author”) for the transfer of copyrights, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Personal Income Tax Act.

Poland Pay Range
301 800 zł—408 200 zł PLN

The range listed above is the expected annual salary/OTE for this role, subject to change.

Salary/OTE is just one component of Dropbox’s total rewards package. All regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).

Dropbox is a Virtual First company and is open to hiring candidates in all authorized locations. However, for this role, the locations posted are preferred.
