Dropbox’s Emerging Talent Program is a Campus Forward Award Winner

Published on January 11, 2023

Dropbox's Emerging Talent Program is proud to have been selected as a Campus Forward Award winner for the second year in a row. The Campus Forward Awards, presented by RippleMatch, are given to companies that go above and beyond when it comes to recruiting and developing university students and entry-level talent.

Through our Emerging Talent Program, Dropbox has been able to make meaningful investments into the entry-level talent community. Here's why we’re on the list again this year.

More Than Just Recruiting

We have developed strategic relationships with universities, student groups, and diversity-focused organizations aligned to Dropbox's Virtual First and early-career hiring goals. Through those partnerships, the team has planned intentional virtual and in-person engagements showcasing what it is like to work at Dropbox.

An Unforgettable Candidate Experience

We take an individualized approach to sourcing and recruiting the next generation of talent. We make sure candidates have access to interview prep materials, which walk them through the entire interview process, outline what they will be evaluated on at each interview stage, and provide helpful resources and practice tests to make sure they feel confident and prepared.

We’re Stronger Together

Diversity and inclusion is a top priority at Dropbox. The Emerging Talent Program is focused on building and expanding pathways into the tech industry. This year, we continued to partner with our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team to sponsor industry-wide diversity conferences like Grace Hopper Celebration, AfroTech, Tapia, and more. We also partnered with diversity-focused organizations like ColorStack, Thurgood Marshall College Fund, and Edlyft to support and mentor underrepresented students in technical fields.

In addition, all emerging talent hires have access to Dropbox’s employee resources groups, the Dropbox Mentoring Program, and specialized learning and development initiatives to support their growth and sense of belonging at Dropbox.

Internships with Impact

The Dropbox Internship Program provides a unique opportunity for interns to gain skills and experience in an industry leading organization while also contributing to our business in real ways. During their 12-week internship, interns are placed on a team and paired with a mentor who designs a project that is both meaningful and impactful to their own personal growth and development, as well as Dropbox’s overall success.

Interns are also able to take full advantage of working at a Virtual First company. On top of participating in virtual events and talks (technical & non-technical) hosted by the Internship Program team, many are able to attend team offsites and work from Dropbox Studios - experiencing the best combination of remote work and in person collaboration! Last summer we hosted our first ever Emerging Talent Summit at Dropbox HQ where interns were able to meet and work together in-person - a highlight of their internship experience.

Going Beyond the Hire

At Dropbox, our support continues even after the offer is accepted. Dropbox is committed to the long-term success and continued development of their full-time early career hires. To support this effort, the Emerging Talent team created Glide, a one year community-based social and development program designed to support participants through a smooth early career transition and set them up for success in their current roles and in future advancement. Glide aims to foster a sense of community and belonging for participants through quarterly social engagements and facilitated peer-connection groups.

As we continue our journey to find, nurture and develop the best talent in the world, we're excited to be recognized by RippleMatch as a leader in this space. We know that our work is never done and look forward to continuing to make an impact on the entry-level talent community.
