Q2 2024 Impact Day Recap

Published on May 14, 2024

On April 19th, Dropbox hosted Impact Day, our biannual, company-wide day of service that encourages Dropboxers around the world to get involved in their communities, and do good through volunteering and giving opportunities around the globe.

Making work human is integral to how we build community at Dropbox. This Impact Day, we collaborated with our cross functional partners, employee resource groups, and employee interest groups to promote volunteering activities.

Together, we supported over 200 nonprofit partners through donation and volunteering - and we saw a 69% increase in volunteering hours from our previous Impact Day in 2023!

Take a look at some of the virtual and in-person volunteer opportunities Dropboxers engaged in, with pictures and quotes below:

  • Beautification project in Dublin with Irish Refugee Council, who’s mission is to provide services and support to the refugee community in Ireland
  • Harvested, weeded and mulched raspberries with Farmshare Austin, an organization dedicated to growing a healthy, just, and equitable local food system by increasing community food access and cultivating new farmers
  • Garden cleaning at Helcow Nursing Home in Krakow, Poland
  • Virtual event to write relatable role model letters for young girls served by the Girl Connect
  • MacRitchie Trails Clean Up in Singapore
  • Meal prepped and bagged lunches with GLIDE in San Francisco, a nationally recognized center for social justice
  • Packed food with the Greater Chicago Food Depository, a local food bank in Chicago
  • Beach cleanup in San Francisco with Surfrider Foundation, an organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s ocean, waves, and beaches

I was lucky to lead and participate in two Impact Day events - the Career Coffee Morning hosted in the Dublin studio with students from the Dublin O'Connell's school, and the beautification project with Irish Refugee Council. There were close to 30 Dropbox employees involved across both these events and having an opportunity to look back now and reflect on the impact we made throughout those two days will be a source of a positive energy for me a long time coming.”

  • Veronika Bahnikova (Dublin Dropbox for Good Lead)

“We had the opportunity to work with the GLIDE community members to put together lunch bags for local residents in the Tenderloin area of San Francisco. It provided an amazing chance to get to know other members of the Dropbox community outside of our teams and organizations through our shared excitement and passion for helping the local community!”
