Team Description

Our Marketing team sets product positioning and strategy, manages product launches, and gathers customer insights. We’re responsible for maximizing our products' potential, in order to delight our users and help Dropbox grow. We partner with teams across the company, including Product, Sales, and Engineering.

Role Description

As a Product Marketing Manager at Dropbox, you will partner with Product Managers, Sales and other cross-functional Marketing teams to drive growth for our customer-centric products and solutions in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. The team’s mission is to translate deep customer empathy and insights into compelling marketing that drives tangible business results. You will fill a critical role on the team, leading high-priority initiatives from product development through launch and the entire product lifecycle. 
At Dropbox, Product Marketing Managers represent the customer voice and strive to create the ideal journey that meets customer needs and expectations. The ideal candidate has the ability not only to leverage customer insights to build and execute a solid marketing strategy but also to work cross-functionally, communicating regularly with other marketing teams and functions (including but not limited to Product, Brand, and Design). Evolutions Team - The Evolutions team is responsible for bringing some of Dropbox’s newest products and features to market. Working on solving some of the unique workflow problems, utilizing new ways to find product market fit and working through ambiguity are just some of the attributes the team thrives in. Examples of what our team is responsible for include Dropbox Shop, Dropbox Capture, Dropbox Backup, to name a few.

Responsibilities

  • Help build and execute strategy for the Dropbox experience, driving subscriber growth and revenue for the company
  • Generate customer, market, and competitive insights from research and analytics to identify new business/product opportunities and develop more effective strategies, value props/positioning/messaging, and go-to-market plans
  • Develop personalized onboarding and activation programs across surfaces to help connect users with product value that best addresses their needs and pain points
  • Partner with Product, Design, Engineering, Data Science, Growth, and Content Design to build best-in-class product experiences that drive deep engagement and customer retention
  • Leverage user insights and competitive intelligence to craft compelling positioning, messaging, and narratives that effectively communicate our value proposition and differentiate it from other products in the market
  • Drive awareness and adoption of new and existing features that best meet user needs in partnership with Product, Growth, and Integrated Marketing teams
  • Lead go-to-market strategy and execution for launches, migrations, and deprecations, and shape how we communicate the product vision to customers

Requirements

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in Product Marketing, ideally in a B2B, tech, or SaaS focused role
  • Exceptional collaboration and interpersonal skills, with experience influencing stakeholders without authority, driving alignment, and working cross-functionally with Product, Design, Engineering, Data Science, Research & Insights, Pricing & Packaging, and Marketing teams
  • World-class storytelling and written/verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex concepts into clear, concise messaging that’s easy for users to understand
  • Strong growth mindset and intellectual curiosity, with a willingness to learn, flex into new areas, and continuously improve
  • Deep empathy for both cross-functional partners and end users, with strong customer-centricity and experience serving as the voice of the customer
  • Ability to think strategically and navigate ambiguity, with experience breaking down broad, complex problems and thinking about them in a structured way
  • Analytical and data-driven, with experience generating qualitative and quantitative insights and using them to inform strategies and decision-making
  • Proven self-starter with a bias for action and can-do attitude to get things done
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; MBA a plus

Total Rewards

Through our assessment process, we will identify your level that ties to compensation based on your experience and technical expertise along with the scope of the role.
For candidates hired in Colorado, the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role is $79,100 - $93,000 - $106,900 if you are assessed at the IC2 level. If you are instead assessed at the IC3 level, the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role is $103,000 - $121,200 - $139,400.
This salary/OTE range represents the low, middle, and high end of the salary or OTE (Sales roles) range for this position, and is subject to change. To determine a Dropboxer’s starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. This position may be considered a promotional opportunity. 
Salary/OTE is just one component of Dropbox’s total rewards package. All regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
