Meet our people: Nasim Yalpani and the team behind the innovation of Dropbox’s global offices
Q: What is your name, what office do you work out of, and how long have you been at Dropbox?
A: My name is Nasim Yalpani. I work out of the San Francisco HQ. I’ve been at Dropbox since August 2018.
Q: What is your current role at Dropbox?
A: I’m the Director of Real Estate and Workplace Services (REWS). I manage an incredible team responsible for making the offices Dropboxers work around the world!
Q: What surprised you most about Dropbox when you joined?
A: How incredibly generous and genuine Dropboxers are.
Q: What do you do to help make the world work better?
A: I deliver and support our offices around the world by innovating and constantly improving our working environments. For example, we have recently rolled out our first comprehensive transportation program at our HQ. This goal of this program is to provide sustainable transportation connections for Dropboxers to easily and safely get to and from work by bridging convenient regional and local public transit hubs with a suite of last mile solutions.
Q: What does enlightened ways of working mean to you?
A: Our new HQ! In particular, we explored how to manifest our mission in a physical space. The space is flexible and accommodates different ways of working, making people feel good, and inspires co-creation.
Q: Anything that you have done/accomplished at Dropbox that you’re proud of?
A: In August 2019, my team and I opened our new HQ with a large team of partners. This brought all of our Dropboxers together under one roof in a new space that embodies our mission to create a more enlightened way of working.
Q: Why did you decide to join Dropbox? What did you do before?
A: Before Dropbox, I managed real estate strategy at Uber. I joined Dropbox because of our values, especially cupcake.
Q: What can we find you doing outside of work?
A: Running, spinning, and boxing.
Q: Any accomplishments you’re proud of outside of work?
A: Being recognized this year as a “Power Woman” by Bisnow, a “Woman of Influence” by the San Francisco Business Times, and receiving my Masters of Corporate Real Estate from CoreNet Global.
Q: What is something interesting about you that not a lot of people know?
A: I am a licensed architect in California.
